Well...I've been "tagged" by Megi, so here it goes...
1.Where did you meet your husband?
July 10, 1965 in Idaho Falls, ID was to be the wedding reception of one of my former roommates who was marrying one of Doug's former roomates. I was to be at their wedding book and, theefore, needed to find a ride. Another former roommate was to be in the line and because she was going to summer school at BYU, she also needed a ride. I asked her to see if she could find one for us. As it turned out, Doug lived across the street from her because he, too, was going to summer school. He was planning to go to the reception as well as visit a former missionary companion. Arrangements were made, and on the afternoon of July 9, 1965, we met for the first time. I had my mom drive me over to State St. in Murray so Doug wouldn't have to drive out of his way to Kearns, so he likes to tell everyone "he picked me up on State."
2. What was the first thing you said to your husband?
I don't remember what we said. First impressions between us were negative. Douglas says I gave him a sour look and I thought he seemed conceited and ornery.
3. Where was your first date?
August 24, 1965, we had our first date to the Tiki Hut for a Chinese dinner and then we walked around Temple Square.
4. Where was your first kiss?
Our first kiss was on a Sunday evening after we had attended both sessions of general conference, Oct. 3. I don't remember where - most likely at my front door.
5. Did you have a long or short engagement/courtship?
We dated five months and were engaged six months.
6. Where did you get engaged?
On Thanksgiving Eve, we went to a movie and after the movie, he asked me to marry him. It was actually about the third time he'd asked; it took me a while to be sure. It as after midnight, so it was Thanksgiving day; we had a lot to be thankful for. I didn't get a ring until January 8.
7. Where did you get married?
We were married in the Salt Lake Temple, May 26, 1966.
8. How did the reception go?
The reception was wonderful, held at The Reception Center and we greeted our guests from 8-10:30. In those days, the gifts were opened as they arrived and put on display. We served light refreshments and had a short program. My sisters sang, "Goin' to the 'Temple.'" A friend sang, "People." My parents sang their song, "Let the Rest of the World Go By." We had an open house in Bakersfield on May 28, 1966 in the backyard of 605 Knotts St., the house where Doug grew up.

9. How was the honeymoon?
We honeymooned in California, leaving Bakersfield the Monday after our open house and went to Anaheim where we rented a motel, The Town and Country, for three nights and we went to Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland, Marineland, and went to an Angels baseball game. We also visited the LA temple grounds and saw China Town in LA.
