Big Change!

When we moved into our house fall of 1975, there was a scrawny pine tree that looked half dead. We watered and nurtured it over the years and this is what it became! A Giant! It was lovely for a time, even dropping pine cones that looked like roses! It gave us lots of shade and we loved it. As time passed, however, it got too big and when we'd have strong winds, limbs would break threatening our house and the neighbor's as well. The past two years, the needles have been dropping continually, making a big mess in not only our yard, but all of the neighbors. The pine cones made a terrible mess this year, breaking apart and going everywhere. So we got fed up and decided it was time for the tree to go! Last Saturday, it was felled by our neighbor. So farewell to our big tree and to the shade. . . . and to the mess!

BEFORE the tree was removed!

AFTER the removal!

Some of the big logs from the trunk!

What's left of the stump!

Wood from the tree minus all of the huge pieces
still to be moved to the back.

WOW!! It's almost amazing what a little tender loving care can do. That was a really big tree. You might say it was Treemendous. Sorry couldn't resist the chance for a pun. I know you'll miss your bif friend but not the mess.

Sorry "bif" is the adamic language for big. Or maybe a just a speech impediment.

I can't believe its gone...I still remember when Dad used to put Christmas lights on it and we'd claim we had two Christmas trees....that was of course before it got too tall. Now the yard looks a bit naked...you better get some more landscaping in there to cover it up!

If you guys keep changing things, I'm not going to recognize my own house anymore!!! (And if you were going to take that tree out all along, you could have done it during my mowing lawn days!! :) Just kidding...I'm sure it's nice to not have to clean up the mess anymore...love you!
