Happy Birthday, Lovebug!

November 12, 1981 brought a beautiful baby girl into our home and we named her Shannon. We sent her on ahead October 5, 2008. What joy she brought into our home and into her own home. We miss her so and yet find comfort knowing she's in a state of peace and rest doing missionary work and anything else the Lord asks. That's how she is! Till we meet again, sweet daughter!

I remember during her funeral, I was thinking, I know that in it’s self is a minor miracle. But anyway, I was thinking that being with Shannon was like Christmas morning. You had no idea what you were going to get, but you knew you would love it. I heard her sing “I know Heavenly Father loves me” once and knew then and there I wanted it sung at my funeral and I wanted her to sing it. So I always used to tease her that I wanted her to sing at my funeral and she would always laugh. The last time we spoke on the phone I reminded her of it and she laughed and said she probably wouldn’t be able caused she had lost her vice. I started to pray that Shannon would get her voice back. Well she has got her voice back. Not what I had in mind, but Father knows best. I know that Heaven’s choir is so much better because of a little blond girl who is the new director. Astronaut dress and all.

You don't know me but I was Shannon's roommate for a Summer in Provo back in 2003. I just today learned of her passing. I am so grateful that she is at peace & no longer in pain. I had heard of CF before that summer but never really understood it until I lived with Shannon. She always had a wonderful attitude & infectious laugh & smile that I will never forget. She is the one that introduced my husband & I. It was through one of her famous practical jokes. My condolences go to you & to Paul.

Sincerely,
